Smile Design

Your facial features, lip line and tooth proportions are assessed together to create a smile plan that suits you.

Smile design is not a single procedure but a way of planning. The colour, shape, length and alignment of the teeth are assessed together with your face, lips and gums. The goal is not to give everyone the same “perfect” smile, but a natural result that fits your face.

Who is it for?

  • People unhappy with the colour, shape or length of their teeth
  • Those with gaps, chips or wear on their front teeth
  • Those who feel too much gum shows when they smile
  • Those who want to renew old fillings or crowns

Any cavities or gum disease must be treated before planning begins; without a healthy foundation, aesthetic results do not last.

How is it planned?

  1. Examination and conversation: I listen to what you would like to change and assess your oral health.
  2. Records: Photos, X-rays if needed, and impressions or an intraoral scan are taken.
  3. Plan and trial: Where suitable, a temporary mock-up of the new smile is tried in your mouth, so we can see and adjust the result in advance.
  4. Treatment: The plan is carried out with one or more methods such as whitening, composite, veneers or crowns.

How long does it take?

Plans using only whitening and composite can be completed in a few visits. When porcelain veneers or crowns are needed, the laboratory stage usually spreads the process over a few weeks.

Frequently asked questions

Do teeth have to be filed down?

Not always. Some plans can be done with whitening and composite alone, without touching the tooth structure. When porcelain is needed, the amount of preparation depends on the plan and is discussed beforehand.

Will the result look natural?

A natural look is the main goal. Colour and shape are chosen to suit your face, skin tone and age, which is why the trial stage matters.
